The body of the son of JD-U legislator Bima Bharti was found near a railway track in Patna in the wee hours of Friday.
Bharti’s son Dipak had gone for a party at a friend’s place here but did not return.
Dipak was a resident of Rupauli in Purnea district and was living with her mother Bima, who was minister in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s cabinet earlier as she was elected MLA from Rupauli assembly seat for the third time in 2015 on a JD-U ticket.
Nitish Kumar met Bharti at her residence and expressed condolences.
DIG Rajesh Kumar said: “Injuries were found on Dipak’s body and the police have started the probe. Whether it was a suicide or murder is yet to be probed.”
A forensic science team has reached the spot. The body was sent for post-mortem to PMCH.
The police have taken two friends of Dipak in custody. They are being questioned.
