Legal Aid Clinic inaugurated at Shargole
Bhagat assures justice delivery system
at peoples’ doorsteps
KARGIL, MAY 8: Principal District and Session Judge Kargil, Sanjiv Kumar Bhagat who is also the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority Kargil inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic at Shargole here today.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Kargil SpalzesAngmo, President Bar Association Kargil Khadim Hussain, CouncillorShargole Haji Muhammad Ali, advocates of Bar Association Kargil, Lamabardars, prominent citizens, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) and local people were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhagat said that the Legal Aid Clinic has been kick-started to provide legal support to the local population of the area at doorsteps besides to extend benefits of Lok Adalat mediation and other alternative dispute resolution measures.
The Principal District and Session Judge also highlighted the role of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) in the justice delivery system in rural areas and urged upon people to take full benefit of the services available through the Legal Aid Clinic.
He said that legal awareness programmes shall be organized in the remotest areas of the district in near future so that the people could be made aware of various schemes being run by Government for the welfare of the poor and needy.
People who participated also highlighted their difficulties and grievances. Responding to the demands the Principal District and Session Judge assured their speedy redressal.
Meanwhile, the local people have highly appreciated the efforts of the Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kargil for opening the Legal Aid Clinic in the area.
