JAMMU: Ten Rehbar-e-Talim (ReT) teachers have been placed under suspension in Doda for staging a skit portraying Revenue Department in a bad light.
On seeing a video of the skit, staged during the training programme-Parvaaz, held in local Middle School, Deputy Commissioner Doda sought stern action against the ReTs involved in the production of the skit, which has dented the image of the officers and officials of Revenue Department. The scenes of the skit highlighted corrupt practices of the department.
The suspension order issued by CEO Doda reads, “Whereas, a video image got viral on social media, depicting therein that a group of teachers while performing a skit defamed the officers/officials of Revenue Department; whereas, the matter was enquired into by this office and found that these teachers were performing the skit in City MS, Doda on June 4, 2018 during teachers training programme under “PARVAAZ; whereas, the District Development Commissioner, Doda vide No.DCD/PA-26/18/762 dated June 4, 2018 has directed this office to take stern action against the employees involved in such unethical activities; and whereas, preliminary enquiry reveals that the act of the employees seems intentional and deliberate to defame the image of Officers/
Officials of Revenue Department, even may cause breach in the smooth functioning of District Administration. Therefore, pending enquiry into the matter the following teachers are hereby placed under suspension with an immediate effect and shall remain attached at their original place of engagement during the period of suspension”.
Those placed under suspension include ReTs Ghulam Ali from Primary School, Neelsoo; Shabir Ahmed from Primary School Ghangora; Raja Aziz from Primary School Chittran; Nisar Ahmed from Primary School Anchakri; Meenakshi Devi from Primary School Gharsoo; Fahmida Bano from Primary School Lower Barshala; Sajad Hussain Malik from Primary School Dudwah; Shadi Lal from Primary School Kashore; Ashiq Hussain from Primary School Damsi and Rakesh Kumar from Primary School Dharara.
Meanwhile, a two member committee, comprising Principal DIET Doda and Principal HSS Jathali, has been constituted to conduct in-depth enquiry into the matter and was asked to furnish its report along with comments/recommendations within month, enabling the Chief Education Officer to transmit “the same to the higher authorities”.
Under Parvaaz Programme, the Teachers Training Courses are being organised in various districts of the State.
Parvaaz is a pilot programmes on “Comprehensive Skills and Education Programme for Rural BPL Minority Youth”, an initiative of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. The main objective of the programme is to mainstream the minority BPL youth of the country by empowering them with education, skills and employment. For this, the government teachers are being given training to impart quality education.
