BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 12: The district administration Budgam under the supervision of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Khurshid Ahmad Sanai today carried out a massive demolition and anti-encroachment drive on the Kashmiri Panidit migrant properties at village Kathwara in Budgam.
During the special drive, an old mud house along with two kanals of land at one site and 10 marals of land at another site belonging to Kashmiri migrants was retrieved from the occupiers identified as Mohammad Ayoub Bhat son of MJ Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Bhat Ganai son of Mohammad Abdullah Ganai, both locals.
The illegal constructions including tin sheds on the land belonging to Anand Koul and Somnath Koul were also demolished and removed by the teams of Police, Municipality and Revenue during the drive at both sites.
The ADDC also locked the house occupied by Mohammad Ayoub before evicting his family along with belongings to his nearby newly constructed house.
The ADDC said that prompt action was taken against the occupiers after receiving the complaint from the migrant Pandits.
He said that despite serving repeated notices to the land grabbers they had failed to evict the migrant property.
The ADDC said that strict action would be taken against anyone resorting to land grab or encroachment of migrant property anywhere in the district in future.
