JAMMU JUNE 13: The Library Committee of Govt. College of Education organized One Day workshop on” Management of various Library Services” here today.
Prof. (Dr.) Sangita Nagari, Principal, Govt. College of Education, Jammu was the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) Poonam Dhawan, Dean of Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu was the Guest of Honour in the programme.
Librarian and Convener of the Committee Dr. Anuradha Seth presented the formal welcome address on the occassion .
Chief Guest Prof.(Dr.)Sangita Nagari in her address appreciated the efforts of Librarian, who has shown keen interest and promptness in organizing one Day Workshop for brushing up and updating the information regarding various Library services.
Prof.(Dr.) Poonam Dhawan, emphasized that today society is knowledge driven and automation and digitization of Library is the need of the hour adding that lot of professionalism is required in handling the technological set up.
The workshop started with technical session by the resource persons. Romesh Chander ,Assistant Librarian from Central university and Arun Gupta Librarian (Govt Boys degree college Udhampur) who delivered lecture and gave demo on automation software for Libraries “Koha”
In valedictory function the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof.Sunita Devi. Participants from different institution were felicitated on the occasion.
