POONCH
Appreciating the efforts of DDC Poonch Mohd Ajaz Asad for showing top priority for early completion of much awaited and important project of 132 kv transmission line, locals of Poonch said that this line needs urgent commissioning because Poonch district has suffered a lot after September 2014 floods due to poor power supply when large number of pillars of this line were washed away. They lauded the concern of DDC Poonch over this issue and demanded that the work on said line should be started and completed as soon as possible because development of any kind is not complete unless Poonch is blessed with round the clock electricity. It is pertinent to mention here that District Development Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Ajaz Asad, the other day, chaired a meeting in his office chamber regarding review of 132 KV transmission line from Draba to Chandak. The estimated cost of the Project is 29 crores involving more than 100 Transmission Towers. The Project has been allotted to PGCIL for execution.
After threadbare discussion, it was informed in the meeting that 132 KV project work will be completed within 16 months and the ongoing survey exercise shall be completed by mid June and execution shall start from July 2018. This was intimated by Project Manager Power grid corporation of India Limited.
DDC issued directions to the concerned agency for bye passing the residential areas from HT transmission lines to avoid any displacement of the populace. He reiterated that project execution work must meet the set deadline.
While stressing on the importance of 132 KV Transmission Line, DDC Mohd Ajaz Asad said the project after completion shall establish a robust power supply mechanism in Poonch District. He told the Executing Agency that he will take periodical review of the 132 KV project for early completion to improve power scenario in the district. Superintending Engineer Project Wing, Xen Systems and Operations, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer EM &RE Poonch, Chief Project Manager PGCIL Jammu, Executive Engineer System and operations Jammu, Executive Engineer Project wing PDD Jammu along with contractor R-APDRP and other officers were present in the meeting.
