Freedom from malice, freedom from evil intention, freedom from biasness, freedom from injustice, freedom from sins. It is the pledge with which the celebrations commenced at Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu. 15th august an eventful and historic day which marked our day of independence from British rule. In order to solemnize this day we reengineered the same ambience in our school, it was a weeklong celebration which began on 9.08.18 with the commemoration of Kranti Diwas.

The Britishers came, conquered and looted us of our wealth and freedom but we regained both the things after years of toil with chauvinism. The same nationalistic feeling was observed in our Sanskritians of class 5th n 6th when on 13.08.18 an “Inter House Rangoli Competition” was held on the theme “Patriotism”. They not only made beguiling Rangolis but also aroused the concern for one’s nation through their designs. Wisdom house stood first among all the four houses. On the same day multifarious activities on Independence Day like Fork Printing, Corner decoration, Rangoli Making etc. were organized in our Pre-Primary wing. Our primary wing also exhibited its rhapsodic spirit which was visible through activities like motivational talk by teachers, designing different patterns on Independence Day etc.

Preceding to 14.08.18 a special assembly was organized in the school precincts. The function began with welcome address by one of our Sanskritians followed by Vandana. After this children were made aware of the prominence of this day by Niharika of class 8th. Conjuring this, the musical troupe left everyone in awe with their symphony. Apart from this, an entertaining dance performance on struggle for freedom was given by Sanskritians. A video of 20-minutes on patriotism was also shown to the children to further their nationalistic feeling. How can our pre primary children remain at the back, so they with their slogans on nation and independence revived the jingoistic feeling in audience. On this independence day we have also organized an inter house semi classical singing competition in which the children from all the four hoses gave a overwhelming performance and the best part was that the audience also started singing the patriotic songs with the troupe. The competition was judged by Ms. Rajni Music Teacher & the winning trophy was shared between optimism & wisdom house.

Ms. Kawalpreet Kour, trustee Jammu Sanskriti School was the chief guest for flag hoisting ceremony. She congratulated the staff and students on this occasion. Chairperson of the school, Principal, coordinators & members of management committee along with the staff & students united together in the school to pay reverence and regard to our freedom fighters and for flag hoisting.

Principal cum Vice chairperson of the school Ms. Rohini Aima asserted that we reckoned our independence when most of us were not educated but if we introspect ourselves we will find that even after being highly qualified we are still slaves of our malignant thinking. We as Indians always conform to rules of foreign countries but exhibit negligence towards our own. The freedom that we enjoy today is the outcome of sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and we are obliged to maintain it by taking our country to a greater height one by being a position change ambassadors.
