In accordance with cleanliness drive started by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The role of schools has been instrumental in realizing mission of “Swachh Bharat”.
As school plays a vital role in spreading the Swachhta awareness and implementation of this across the country, Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 01-09-2018 to 14-09-2018. Under this drive slogan writing, poster making, awareness debates etc. were organized by the teachers and the students for the success of Swachh Bharat campaign. The students teachers and other staff members volunteered to clean the campus and the surrounding of the school and more emphasis was given on removing the non-biodegradable substances like plastics. On the concluding day students expressed their views on Swachhta through poem and talks. Students of 5th class presented a play on Swachhta and conveyed a good message.
Reflecting on the motto “Cleanliness is next to godliness” Shuchita Gupta Principal of Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua said that Swachh Bharat is not a movement of any government or any Prime Minister. This is the nation’s movement. She said that school can segregate biodegradable items from the non- biodegradable items and can set up recycling units for internal consumption. Oath was taken by all the students and teachers under Mrs Samriti Sharma coordinator Primary wing to maintain cleanliness is not only outer cleaning but our thinking and mind should also be clean.
