BANDIPORA, AUGUST 20: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary today convened a joint meeting of officers and representatives of Shia Associations, here to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Muharram-ul- Haraam.
The SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfikar Azad, SDM, Sumbal, Syed Naseer were also present.
The meeting discussed all issues projected by the representatives of Shia associations at length and the DDC directed officers to ensure all arrangement beforehand.
The DDC directed officers to work in coordination so that the benefits could reach out to a great populace in areas of Sumbal Sub Division.
The DDC asked concerned officers to ensure that people in Shia dominated areas could get all facilities from the district administration. The DDC directed for maintenance of uninterrupted power and water supply during Muharram day. He also directed for making fool proof security arrangements. Provision of special health care facilities, supply of fire wood, Ration and sugar were also discussed, besides sanitation around Amambars and procession routes.
