New Delhi, December 20: Upendra Kushwaha, former minister and president of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), will join the Congress-led UPA alliance at the party headquarters here on Thursday.
Top Congress sources said Kushwaha and Congress president Rahul Gandhi had reached a broad agreement on seat sharing in Bihar and will formalise their pact today.
Kushwaha had quit the ruling NDA alliance recently, citing lack of agreements with the BJP over seat sharing in the state.
Jitan Ram Majhi-led HAM is already part of the Congress-led alliance in the state of which the RJD is also a part.
The Congress leaders said the RJD-Congress-RLSP-HAM pact would be a formidable force against the NDA alliance for Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
