Lal Draman is a beautiful spot 15 km north-west of Doda Town, amidst lofty deodar and fir trees, is one of the best tourist sites of the district of Doda near village Sazan. Lal Draman in English means Red Meadows. Lal Draman offers a variety of beautiful landscapes, unique mosaic culture, extremely soothing and pleasant summer, numerous spots of scenic splendor and snow winter.
Grameen –cum- Tourism Mela at Lal Draman in Doda has become an annual feature depicting the culture of District Doda . This one day mela showcases the tourist destinations while the main attractions of the celebration are colorful cultural programmes in Sirazi, Bhaderwahi, Kashmiri, Urdu,
Volleyball match, Daku Dance, Horse Race, Animal Show, Kabaddi match besides other activities are organized at The Lal Draman tourist resort.
Lal Draman remained a favorite place for Sh. Sheikh Mohd. Abdulla, grand father of the ex-Chief Minister Omar Abdullah . Sheikh Abdullah had deep affection for the scenic beauty of Lal Draman and made frequent visits. Lal Draman is also one of the symbols of unity among two different communities with a beautiful small Mosque & Temple present side by side. People there are very hospitable & are famous for their hospitality.
Mosque which was constructed was the combined effort of one of the eminent & respected personality of that region Late Haji Abdul Aziz Batt and some local villagers. Haji Aziz was highly revered amongst all the communities for his harmonious & peaceful messages which lead it to be an example of unity among different communities in the whole district.
For last couple of years people from different parts of district regularly visit Lal Draman for picnics, camping & also some tourists have started to come for winter-sports like skiing because of good amount of snowfall of approx. 6–8 feet in winters. Despite being exotic & beautiful tourist spot, it lacks infrastructure & there is still no motorable road which can be used and to reach there. One has to walk approx. 2 to 3 km from the nearest bus stop which is in village Bijarni, to reach Lal Draman.
