2 SIBLINGS DROWN IN HARWAN RESERVOIR
Srinagar, July 22: Two teenage siblings identified as Abrar Altaf (18) and Irtiqab Altaf (16) of Umer Colony (B) Lal Bazar drowned in Harwan reservoir here on Sunday here.
According to the police sources the deceased duo hailing from Lal Bazar had gone for swimming in the water reservoir close to Dachigam National Park.
“The duo drowned around 1 pm at Sarband area of Dachigam Wildlife Sanctuary,” said a police official. Later, bodies of the siblings were retrieved from the reservoir with the help of locals and police, he said.
Meanwhile, locals blamed authorities for lack of rescue system in and around the reservoir.
