A 40-year-old woman drug peddler, a resident of Dadu Majra Colony, has been arrested by the police with 200 gm of heroin and 30 banned injections.
According to the police, the accused, Nirmala, alias Nimmo, was arrested at a naka laid on a tip-off near a petrol pump in Sector 38 (West). She was riding an Activa scooter in which the heroin and the injections were stacked.
Inspector Baldev Kumar, SHO of the Maloya police station, said the accused was supplying drugs across the tricity. “The drugs recovered from her were worth several lakhs,” the SHO said.
Police sources said they were trying to locate the people who used to purchase drugs from the woman.
The police said the woman had a criminal past with seven cases registered against her in the tricity.
A case under Sections 21 and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the woman at the Maloya police station.
