Ashraf Mir chairs public durbar at Budgam; listens to grievances

BUDGAM, MAY 26: Minister for Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Mohammad Ashraf Mir, today held a Public Durbar here to address the public grievances and take a firsthand account of the problems being faced by the people living in the district.

MLC Saif-Ud-Din Bhat, VC Handloom Muntazir Mohiuddin, DC Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik, Ex-MLA Dr Shafi Ahmad Wani, officials from the district administration, PHE, PDD, I&FC, Health Services and other concerned departments besides scores of locals were also present on the occasion.

During the camp, various delegations apprised the Minister about their problems and developmental needs and sought redressal of their grievances.

Delegations from various areas of Budgam flagged many issues before the Minister with regard to macadamization of roads, increase in the supply of safe drinking water, issues regarding electricity, health facilities and many other issues of public interest.

The Minister gave the delegations a patient hearing and assured that their genuine demands will be looked into and passed on-spot directions with regard to various grievances flagged by the locals.

On the occasion, DC Budgam also apprised the Minister about various developmental achievements. He informed the Minister about progress in macadamization of roads.

He said that 172 new Fair Price Shops have been made functional from this year in the district and other works of public benefit are undergoing.

The Minister directed the concerned officials to work with added zeal and implement the government-sponsored welfare and development schemes in letter and spirit.

He also directed the Legal Metrology Department authorities to conduct the regular market inspections to keep a check on hoarding, profiteering and black marketing.
