DDC Ganderbal reviews Mela Kher Bhawani arrangements


GANDERBAL, MAY 26: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Mela Kher Bhawani here today.

The DDC was informed about the preparedness by the line departments for the festival. He directed the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted power and drinking water supply during the Mela. He also reviewed security and transport facilities, besides availability of ration and Medicare facilities. He also directed for immediate repairs of roads leading to the shrine area.

The DDC also asked the officers to work in tandem and ensure all necessary facilities for devotees who are expected to throng the shrine to perform religious rites.

During the meeting, DDC directed the concerned officers to complete the construction of pre-fabricated sheds on the war footing. He also asked for repairing of dormitory, barricading and general face-lifting in and around the shrine. He also directed for the construction of separate lavatory blocks for males and females beside prayer hall as well.

He stressed upon the officers to ensure that all possible facilities are made available to the devotees.

Among others, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACR Ganderbal, CMO Ganderbal, Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B, PHE and I&FC, DySP Traffic, General Manager Mata Kher Bhawani Trust Tullamulla, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
