Reviews digitization Council Secretariat Library
SRINAGAR, MAY 29: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, convened a meeting to take stock of digitalization process, purchasing of books and other aspects of Library of Council Secretariat here today.
Threadbare discussions were held on the functioning of Library Committee besides decisions taken in previous meetings and steps to be taken for their implementation.
Legislators, Aga Syed Almosavi, Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Dr Shehnaz Ganai and Sofi Yousuf attended the meeting and gave their suggestions for making the functioning of the Committee more vibrant.
Haji Anayat Ali, who is also Ex-officio Chairman of Library Committee, directed the concerned officers of Legislative Council for expediting the digitalization process of the Library and complete all the requisite formalities in this regard within one month.
The Committee suggested that a meeting be held with some leading publishers of the State to seek their suggestions regarding the purchasing of books for the library of the Council Secretariat.
During the meeting, Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majid Bhat briefed the Committee about the present status of decisions taken by the Committee in its last meeting besides ongoing process of digitalization work.
The Chairman and members of the Committee also visited various sections of the Library and other sections of Council Secretariat and enquired about the present status of the various pertaining issues.
Among others, Special Secretary Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Additional Secretary Council, Ali Mohammad Dar, Deputy Secretary Council, Abdul Rashid Chowdhary besides other senior officers of Council Secretariat attended the meeting.
