KULGAM, MAY 29: A capacity building workshop to impart banking awareness to members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) was held at D. H. Pora here.
The programme was organized under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Banking facilities and issues faced by SHG members were discussed threadbare during the training session.
Role of NRLM and SHGs in improving socio-economic conditions were appreciated on the occasion. The session was also informed about the provision by banks to dispose off the loan cases of SHGs with a maximum period of 15 days from the date of receipt.
It was said that 360 SHGs were formed in block during last 3 months and 2000 members have been covered under PMSBY and PMJJBY.
The workshop was attended by NRLM DPM, LEAD District Manager, FLCC Kulgam and branch heads of Different banks and a large number of SHG members.
