Four people, including a boy, were shot and killed in a New York City apartment late on Monday, police said. Two women, one man and a boy about five years old, were found dead from gunshot wounds inside the apartment in Queens after police and emergency crews were called to the scene a little before 9 PM, said reports. Police were investigating if the shooting was a murder-suicide. “We will take the evidence where ever it leads us,” a police officer said.

CBS New York said a weapon was recovered. The Associated Press reported that among the dead, the man’s throat had been slashed, according to New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea. It was not clear if the victims were a family, and the investigations are still at an early stage. AP said the investigators were interviewing the person who called 911. “We don’t want to leave any stone unturned,” Shea said. “There are calls that we believe are going to be related to that building, but it’s a little preliminary.” More details are awaited.
