Patna, October 31: The Bihar government on Wednesday suspended a police inspector for sexually harassing a woman police constable at the office of Bihar Military Police-5 (BMP-5) here.

Women constables later made a hue and cry saying they were not satisfied with the action taken against him.

Vikram Sharan Rathor is posted as subedar (a police inspector-rank officer) at the office of BMP-5. He allegedly sexually harassed a woman trainee police constable on Wednesday after closing the door of his office. The victim escaped from there.
A large number of trainee women constables reached the office of Commandant Ranjit Mishra of BMP-5 and demanded that the accused be handed over to them so that they could teach him a lesson. Later, Rathor was suspended and the Commandant asked to probe the matter.

Mishra said, “After getting the complaint, a senior officer was apprised of the incident so that further action could be taken. The matter is yet to be probed.”
