Mirwaiz reaches Delhi, urges people to stay calm

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday reached National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters in New Delhi for questioning in an alleged funding case.

Mirwaiz, from Delhi, appealed to all the people back home to stay calm and assured that the Hurriyat leadership will continue to seek political resolution of the Kashmir issue. 

“In Delhi today with my colleagues for the NIA summon ,efforts to malign leadership for its political stand wont work. Inspite of harassment #Hurriyat will continue to seek peaceful resolution of the #Kashmir issue,urge people back home to stay calm and peaceful (sic),” Mirwaiz said in a tweet.

Mirwaiz reached New Delhi today morning after NIA had served him three summons.

All Parties Hurriyat (M) Conference (APHC) executive members are accompanying Mirwaiz to Delhi.

Mirwaiz had earlier cited security reasons for inability to travel to Delhi and asked the NIA to question him in Srinagar.
