Ambala:Former Chief Minister and Congress campaign committee chairman Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday called sitting Rajya Sabha member and Congress candidate Kumari Selja his younger sister. He accompanied her when she went to file her nomination papers here.

Known for their rivalry within and outside the party, Hooda and Selja showed bonhomie while sharing the dais at a public rally in favour of the latter. Addressing the rally, Hooda said Selja had always fought with him for development of Ambala.“During my term as Chief Minister, she got the maximum development projects for Ambala approved by me by hook or by crook. She always remained concerned about Ambala’s development,” he maintained.

He sought votes for the Congress and appealed to voters to send Selja to the Lok Sabha for the fifth time. He claimed that the BJP had gained power with false promises.
