DIET Doda Successfully Concludes Capacity Building Program on Experiential Mathematics Education

DODA, July 2-The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Doda, today successfully concluded three-day Capacity Building Programme on “Enhancing Pedagogical Skills in Mathematics Through Experiential and Real-Life Applications.” The comprehensive training, held from June 30th to July 2nd, 2025, aimed to revolutionize mathematics teaching by equipping educators with innovative, engaging methodologies.

Under the expert guidance of Shri Mohd. Hafiz, Worthy CEO Doda, the program emphasized hands-on experiences, storytelling, the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), and alignment with the core themes of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and the National Curriculum Framework 2023 (NCF 2023).

The program was meticulously coordinated by Mr. Zakir Hussain Natnoo, Senior Lecturer at DIET Doda, with valuable co-coordination from Mr. Farooq Ahmed, Head Assistant. Their dedicated efforts ensured the seamless organization and impactful delivery of the training.

Expert resource persons, including Mr. Vikram Singh Katoch, Mr. Gazi Bashir, Mr. Hashmatullah, Mr. Vinod Kumar, and Mr. Farhat Abass, led engaging sessions focusing on key objectives:

* Familiarizing teachers with Vedic mathematics and enhancing their ability to design competent questions, aligning classroom activities with NEP 2020 and NCF 2023.
* Promoting the use of storytelling and real-life applications to teach abstract mathematics concepts in a more relatable and simplified way.
* Training teachers in developing low-cost teaching-learning materials (TLMs) for effective classroom delivery.
* Encouraging the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into mathematics education.
* Strengthening understanding of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) framework and promoting play-based pedagogy for early mathematics teaching.

The program culminated in a dynamic valedictory session where participants presented various topics zone-wise through group discussions and demonstrations, showcasing their enhanced pedagogical skills. Certificates and duty slips were distributed to all participants, who overwhelmingly expressed positive feedback regarding the program’s effectiveness and its potential to transform mathematics education in the region.
