In the quiet corridors of administrative resolve, the Directorate of School Education Jammu convened a significant meeting today on the directions of Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, DSEJ —a gathering that forms part of an ongoing series of scheduled engagements designed to shape the financial and academic future of the region’s school education system. The meeting, held at the DSEJ office in Muthi Camp, brought together the Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division accompanied by Zonal Education Officers and their dealing assistants, for an earnest dialogue on the structural contours of staffing and budget planning.

This forum was not a mere procedural exercise, but rather a thoughtful occasion to review and verify the sanctioned strength of staff across districts and zones—each number, each designation, each post a reflection of the human engine that powers the education of thousands of children across Jammu Division. This review lays the foundation for the preparation of the Budget Estimates for the financial year 2026–27, and a conscientious revision of the estimates for the ongoing year 2025–26.

With meticulous attention to detail, the participants examined a variety of fiscal elements: statements of excess surrender from the year 2024–25, data reflecting allotments and expenditures under every financial head till May 2025, and the nuanced balance of resources available. The financial figures—far from being mere numbers—carry with them the weight of policy, the echo of classroom needs, and the quiet hope of communities.

There was, too, a dedicated focus on the local funds accrued and expended during 2024–25, and their trajectory through April and May of the current fiscal year. Under the expansive umbrella of Samagra Shiksha, the Single Nodal Agency’s reports on receipts, expenditures, and balances were examined with an eye not only for accuracy but for future alignment with educational goals.

Particular attention was paid to the cadres that stand at the grassroots of education delivery: the Education Volunteers, Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers, and the 3rd Teachers in Grade II and III, whose contributions in the remotest corners are often unsung, yet foundational. The meeting also delved into the details of scholarships disbursed through Non-Plan heads, as well as allocations received from the Social Welfare and Tribal Affairs Departments—every rupee scrutinized for its impact on the learner’s journey.

Today’s deliberations marked the beginning of a series of such sessions, each scheduled with precision over the coming weeks to include CEOs from across the Jammu Division. The rhythm of this administrative exercise will continue through June 21, 2025, echoing the Directorate’s commitment to a more informed, equitable, and responsive budgetary process.

In this convergence of figures and futures, the Directorate reaffirms its resolve—to plan wisely, to act justly, and to serve the cause of education with both heart and reason.
