DODA, July 29, 2025 – In a district-wide celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, schools across Doda today converged to observe NEP Utsav. The celebrations were marked by a resolute focus on fostering community participation, promoting inclusivity, and raising crucial awareness around Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN).

The commemorative events commenced with an inaugural ceremony at Government Middle School, Bun Doda, organized by the Chief Education Office, Doda. A key highlight of the event was its prioritization of support for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), during which essential aids and appliances were distributed to identified beneficiaries with the vital assistance of ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India).

The occasion was graced by key dignitaries, including Shri Anil Thakur, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, and Mr. Mohammad Hafiz, Chief Education Officer Doda. They were joined by Sh. Chaman Lal, Zonal Education Officer Doda, and Shri Kismat Singh Jaral, District Nodal Officer for Inclusive Education. Their collective presence underscored the administration’s unwavering dedication to the inclusive, child-centric vision enshrined in NEP 2020.

The opening day of NEP Utsav was characterized by extensive district-wide awareness campaigns and outreach activities, meticulously designed to encourage robust community involvement in the educational process, particularly in advancing FLN goals. These impactful initiatives extended beyond traditional classrooms, encompassing:

* Morning assembly talks and School Management Committee (SMC) meetings that provided in-depth focus on key aspects of NEP 2020 and the Vidyanjali Programme, which actively fosters volunteerism within schools.
* Active participation from Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), local influencers, and community leaders, thereby reinforcing the policy’s imperative call for grassroots engagement.
* Strategic integration of Anganwadi workers, mothers, and young children to significantly enhance early childhood education awareness.
* Strong advocacy for public-private partnerships and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) involvement to bolster infrastructure and measurably improve learning outcomes in schools.

The day’s events garnered overwhelming response from educators, parents, and civil society members alike. Mr. Hafiz, the Chief Education Officer, emphatically emphasized the paramount importance of sustained multi-stakeholder collaboration in achieving the NEP’s transformative goals, particularly in ensuring equitable access to quality education for every child in the district.

The NEP Utsav celebrations are slated to continue throughout the week, featuring a diverse array of school and zone-level programmes. These upcoming events will highlight critical themes such as TLM / FLN Day, Sports Day, Cultural Day, Skilling and digital Initiative.
