Kathua, February 26, 2026: The Chief Education Officer, Kathua, Sh. Kewal Krishan, conducted an inspection visit to Government Higher Secondary School Chhan Rorian and Government Higher Secondary School Sumwan to review academic, administrative, and infrastructural arrangements.
At Government Higher Secondary School Chhan Rorian, the officer inspected the Mid-Day Meal scheme, reviewing the quality, hygiene, and nutritional standards of meals being provided to students up to Class 8th. He also checked the ongoing examinations upto class 9th to ensure proper conduct and discipline. A meeting with the staff members was held to discuss academic performance, institutional functioning, and student welfare.
At Government Higher Secondary School Sumwan, the CEO inspected the under-construction classrooms and laboratories, assessing the progress and quality of ongoing works. He also reviewed the functioning of the laboratories and library. A staff meeting was conducted to deliberate upon academic planning, infrastructural development, and teaching-learning practices.
During meetings at both schools, the CEO directed the staff members to remain fully prepared and focused for the upcoming academic session, with special emphasis on student-centered teaching, disciplined academic practices, and effective learning strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
The visit aimed at strengthening institutional efficiency, improving academic standards, and ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
Smt. Anjana Manyal, District Education Planning Officer (DEPO), was also present during the inspection.
