Haryana Police arrests notorious criminal Puneet alias Kadwa, recovers weapons

Panchkula -August 16 – Detective team of Haryana Police in Jind has succeeded in arresting notorious criminal Puneet alias Kadwa after a brief encounter. Police has also recovered two pistols and two live cartridges from his possession.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of Police Department said that he was wanted in 11 cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and decoity. Police team got secret information that a suspect with a bag is waiting for someone near village Bahamanwas. Acting swiftly, police immediately rushed to the spot. After seeing the police team, the accused tried to flee away while fired a gun shot on police team but could not manage to escape. Police booked the accused and when searched, two pistols and two live cartridges were found. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to having committed crime and his involvement in 11 cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot and decoity in Bhiwani, Jind, Hansi and Rohtak. He was out on bail from jail on May 14, 2018.

He said that remand would be sought by producing him in the court so that his involvement in other cases could be unearthed.

Meanwhile, Director General of Police, Mr B.S. Sandhu appreciated the efforts being made by Jind Police in arresting criminals and other anti-social elements. He also directed to conduct regular raids on suspected locations so as to keep a close check and curb illegal activities in respective areas.
