One person was killed while 21 others sustained injuries as mini bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge on Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Katra in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Official sources, a matador bearing registration number JK08A9957 on its way towards Domail fell into deep gorge of 200 feet around 6 pm in which One person was killed while 21 others sustained injuries
Soon after the accident, the rescue operation by police and locals was started and rushed the injured to the Narayana Hospital where one of the injured was declared as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Jai Karan Sharma (40), resident of Rajpura, Samba.
The injured persons who are under treatment at Naryana Hospital have been identified as Mintu (26), Palak (20), Aryan (22), Nitika (13), Yamin (28), Kuldeep Singh (32), Neha (13), Nishant (17), Anju Devi (22), Renu Devi (34), Varun (22), Akhil (21), Anju (27), Saket (22), Rupansh (22), Vibansh Raina (26), Jai Karan (45), Uttam Singh (22) and Arun Kumar ( 21).
The accident took place near Jhajjar at Jhunwa Bridge in Katra,” police here said.
