A minor boy drowned while taking bath in a canal during a picnic in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.
An official said that Nadeem Ahmad Mir (14) of Hayan Kangan was visiting ‘environment park’ Kanagan with his friends.
He said Mir was taking bath along with his friends at a nearby canal of a power house when he drowned.
The official said a search operation was immediately launched by the locals and the state police. However, there was no trace of him so far.
