In view of forthcoming Muharram celebrations SDPO West Srinagar Shri Musadiq Majid Basu-JKPS conducted PCPG meetings on 11th & 12th September.
On 11-09-2018, a police-public meeting was organized by SDPO West in the premises of Police Station Parimpora. The meeting was attended by several Senior citizens of Shia Community of Khushipora HMT. SHO Police Station Parimpora was also present in the meeting.During meeting the participants raise several issues which include regular supply of water and electricity in the Shia areas during the month of Moharram especially during the first ten days month. The participants were assured the genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned departments and every possible security assistance will be provided for peaceful processions/alam Sharief.
On 12-09-2018, another police public meeting was organized by Police Post Bemina in the conference hall of Hussain Hospital Bemina
The meeting was attended by at least 40 senior citizens of Shia/ Sunni communities of Hamdaniya Colony Bemina, khumani chowk and other adjoining area, which was chaired by SDPO west, besides I/C Police Post Bemina was also present in the meeting. At the out-set of the meeting, the participants raised several issues which include regular supply of water and electricity in the Shia dominated areas during the month of Moharram especially during the first ten days of Moharram month. Besides they also sought assistance of health department in the smooth conduct of Moharram procession and Alan Sharief and installation of flash lights in lanes and bye lanes. The participants were assured that genuine demands will be taken up with the concerned departments and every possible security assistance will be provided for peaceful processions/ alam Sharief. However the participants were requested to maintain communal harmony in the area during coming days. The meeting was ended with vote of thanks.
