POONCH/RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 27: State Mission Director Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), J&K, Vir Ji Hangloo today convened a meeting to review the implementation of various schemes under the umbrella ICDS project in Poonch and Rajouri districts.
The meeting took a detailed stock of various centrally-sponsored schemes like Pradhan Mantri MatruVandhana Yojana (PMMVY), Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) and Aadhaar enrolment in ICDS blocks.
During the meeting, Mission Director emphasized the importance of regular field visits to Anganwadi Centres for effective implementation of the Schemes at the grass root level. Besides, it was also impressed upon that awareness programmes shall be organized in far-flung areas of the projects so that the benefits of all such schemes could reach to a maximum lot.
The Mission Director was briefed that till date more than 8000 Aadhaar cards of children below 5 years were generated by the Anganwadi workers across the districts.
He instructed that verification of ICDS beneficiaries shall be done in all Anganwadi Centres so that only genuine and deserving beneficiaries could avail the benefits of the schemes.
Directions were also given for carrying out an extensive exercise to identify location of the village for new centre for rationalised/clubbed centre in light of Government of India norms and as per orders issued by Government from time to time.
A target of 15 beneficiaries per Anganwadi worker was fixed and all Child Development Project Officers were instructed to adhere to directions.
The meeting was also attended by SDM, CDPOs of all ICDS Projects of the districts.
