SAMBA, JANUARY 02: To review the arrangements for smooth and enthusiastic celebrations of the forthcoming Republic Day in the district, a meeting of the District and Sector Officers was on Wednesday convened by District Development Commissioner Samba, Sushma Chauhan here.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Dr. Koushal Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba Vikas Gupta, PO ICDS Jyoti Rani Salathia, Assistant Commissioner Development M LatifiTasir, Chief Education Officer Samba, Chief Medical Officer, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur and Ghagwal, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B), PHE, and PDD Division Samba and other concerned attended the meeting.
It was revealed that the main function will be organised in the Sports Stadium Samba where VIP/VVIP will unfurl the tricolour and take the salute on the march past contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, FPF, NCC and school children. A colourful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children in collaboration with Cultural Academy Samba.
For the general supervision of necessary arrangements, a Committee of the officers was constituted under the supervision of the Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba comprising the members from Police, Army, PWD and other Departments.
Various other necessary arrangements were also discussed in the meeting which includes security, drinking water facility at the venue, cleanliness and sanitation, seating arrangement, traffic management, and power supply etc.
SSP Samba said that fool-proof security arrangements will be made for the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the National Day.
DDC directed Xen PDD Samba and EO Municipality Samba to replace/ repair the defunct street and floodlights in the town, besides ensure installation of adequate lighting at the venue of celebrations.
It was informed that the Republic Day full dress rehearsal will be held on 24th of January 2019.
