UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 02: In order to take preventive measures in advance to meet any eventually in the district, District Development Commissioner Udhampur Ravinder Kumar today convened a meeting of Disaster Management Authority Udhampur here.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Omparkash Pandey, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, and other district officers of all the departments were present in the meeting.
DDC said that owing to the weather conditions, people should not venture in landslide/avalanche-prone areas, and not go near rivers /nallahs to avoid any untoward incident.
He stressed on the departments providing essential services to keep their men and machinery ready at the vulnerable points to avoid any disruption in the delivery of essential services.
He directed Project Director NHAI, Executive Engineers, R&B & PMGSY to ensure that road connectivity of their concerned roads is through and monitor the roads closely.
DDC further said that in order to maintain close coordination among various departments and agencies and to deal with any eventuality at district headquarters, the emergency centre can be contacted at 01992-272727, 01992-272728, and toll-free numbers 1800-180-7067 shall remain functional under the close supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur.
It was said that District Police Udhampur has also established a Police Control Room in the district with contact number 01992-276915.
