Horticulture awareness programme conducted at Shopian
Shopian, January 02: On the direction of District administration Shopian, horticulture department today conducted a day long awareness programme at Keller block of district Shopian. The programme got a good response and people from all over the area participated in the programme. 
During the programme, the farmers were informed about latest technology in Horticulture crop farming. They were told about various steps that can be taken to increase crop yield. It was a two way interaction in which the participants also enquired about lopping techniques for apple trees in winter season. 
On this occasion the participants were made aware about the harmful effects of over use of pesticides on the crop. They were also informed about latest machinery that result in better productivity.
