Mumbai Police on Thursday said four people are feared to have drowned off Juhu beach while swimming in the sea.
Lifeguards deployed at the beach rescued one man, identified as Wasim Khan, who was with the group. Officials have initiated a search for the group.
“The sea was rough and there was high tide when they ventured into the sea for a swim at around 5.30 pm,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zonal IX) Paramjit Singh Dahiya said.
As per a communication from the Navy, SeaKing 42C helicopters were deployed for the search operation.
