SCERT commences 5 Days workshop on Foundational literacy and Numeracy

Jammu: March 14, 2022. Under National Mission by Ministry of Education, GOI, NIPUN BHARAT (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) to ensure that every child in the country necessarily attains foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27, SCERT J&K,  Divisional office Jammu commenced a 05 days workshop w.e.f. 14th March 2022 here today.
The workshop is being organized by Population Education, Girls Education, ECCE and Education for All Wing of SCERT J&K, Jammu Division under the directions of Prof.Veena Pandita Director SCERT & guidance of Sh.Surinder Kumar Joint Director SCERT-JK  J&K and Sh. N.P. Singh, Head of the wing.
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof Indrani Bhaduri, Head ESD and NAS Cell NCERT NEW Delhi and chaired by Surinder Kumar, Joint Director SCERT-JK Jammu Division in presence of Associate Professors Vinod Koul, N.P Singh, Pawan Gupta and Kishor Kumar and Assistant professors Irwinder Kour, Parveen Akhter, Dr Sanjeevni and Pushpa kaith.
This workshop intends to orient KRPs and DIET faculty who will in turn train field level teachers in cascade mode in strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills among children of 3 to 9 years of age, i.e.upto grade 3.
A galaxy of expert resource persons will be deliberating on variety of themes chosen for the purpose, focusing particularly on the mission of NIPUN Bharat program. They include Sh. Anup Rajput( NCERT), Prof. Usha Sharma, DEE, NCERT, Ms. Amita Kaushik, Director, Eduweave Foundation, Neeru Sharma, Eduweave Foundation. Deepak Sharma, Sr. Academic Officer, SCERT Jammu, Ms. Jaswinder Kour,  Coordinator,  DRC for Pre-primary Education,  Jammu and Sh. Harish Sharma, DRG, DIET Poonch
Participants of the workshop will be trained as key resource persons for implementing NIPUN Bharat mission in their respective districts. They will be introduced to the guidelines of NIPUN Bharat mission and Vidyapravesh module, and will be oriented in devising strategies for building sound foundational skills of literacy and Numeracy alongwith the tools of assessment in these skills.
In her inaugural address the chief guest of the day Prof.Indrani Bhaduri ,NCERT appreciated SCERT J&K for taking initiatives and putting efforts in this direction through workshop .
JD SCERT Jammu Sh.Surinder Kumar welcomed the Chief guest ,Resource Persons and participants and wished them success in realizing the essence of the workshop.
Today’s Sessions were conducted by Amita Kaushik, Director, Eduweave Foundation and Deepak Sharma , Senior Academic Officer who is also coordinating the workshop. Kuldeep Kumar Sr.Academic Officer is acting as Associate Coordinator and Coordination team comprises Senior Academic Officers Tapasya Sharma, Rakhi Atri and Manju Chowdhary Ms.Palavi Joshi, Akash Khajuria , Seema Zakir and Yugal kishore.
