DSEJ organised webinar on School Reopening Program


Jammu: In order to sensitize Principals/ Headmasters & Staff members about the various suggestive guidelines and processes related to reopening of schools , Directorate of School Education Jammu in collaboration with Bharti Foundation organised a webinar on Reopening of Schools for High and Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu Division. Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion which was initially followed by over 25000 HOIs and other staff members LIVE while a huge number of stakeholders including the parents of the students watched the webinar subsequently on various social media platforms across the internet including the officail websites of the Directorate.
While addressing the participants, Anuradha Gupta pointed out that organising a webinar at this time has its own significance when the schools are partially reopening on 21st of September, 2020 and that too in those areas which donot fall in containment zones. She told the participants that this reopening is only for 9th to 12th class students and that too on voluntarily basis. She asked the Heads of Schools to come up with a personalised plan about the level of achievement of students and their personalised needs. She also asked them to prepare a plan of action about blending of online and offline education of students so that a collaborative effort can be made to minimise their study loss and maximise their learning. All SOPS issued need to be followed in the schools.

She appreciated the collaboration and efforts of Bharti Foundation for extending their services whenever they are required

Binu Nair, Chief of Program Operations Bharti Foundation and Sandhya Tandon , Head of Quality Bharti Foundation conducted sessions on Reopening of Schools.

Binu Nair gave the formula of three Ps—Preparation, Prevention and Participation. He asked all HOIs to categorise every activity to be conducted in schools under these three categories.

Sandhya Tandon discussed the preparation for reopening of schools, school days and class structure, school operations, stakeholders’ roles and responsibilities and school administration governance and finances.


Queries raised by participants were also addressed by the resource persons as well as by the Director School Education Jammu, Ms. Anuradha Gupta herself.

Mr. Romesh Sharma, Incharge Counselling Cell DSEJ moderated the webinar while Mr. Anil Bhat , Project Head Bharti Foundation J& K presented the formal vote of thanks. Technical support for the webinar was provided by Team Bharti Foundation and Mr. Sohail Wani( DSEJ).
