The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers on Saturday staged a protest cum hunger strike at press club Srinagar against the delay in the release of their salaries.The protesting SSA teachers while holding placards- “No Pay No Work” and “We Want Justice”, said that they have not been payed their salaries for the last five months
which is adding to their miseries. They said that the SSA teachers have been for long being given a step motherly treatment in comparison to General Line teachers and it had become a regular affair for govt. to delay the release of SSA teacher’s salaries.The SSA Teacher’s Association also demanded that their salaries should be delinked from MHRD and absorbed in state budget so as to ensure timely release of their salaries. https://youtu.be/kaip2QhYOMk
