45 vehicles seized, 300 challaned in Rajouri town

In a major drive against violators of traffic rules, traffic police today seized  45 different vehicles and challaned 300 in Rajouri town.
This surprise  drive by traffic police was launched today morning by team of police headed by Supritendent of Police (Traffic), Jammu Rural, Mushtaq Chowdhary alongwith DySP Traffic Rajouri Poonch Mohd Rafiq and DTI Rajouri Sadaqat Qureshi.
During this day long drive, traffic checking points were established at different locations of Rajouri town including Salani Bridge, Panja Chowk, Gujjar Mandi, ALG road, DC Office road.
More than 300 vehicles were challaned by traffic police for violation of traffic rules with main focus on no usage of crash helmets, use of pressure horns and driving vehicles without requisite documents.
45 vehicles of different nature were also seized by traffic police which include two wheelers, cars, goods as well as passenger vehicles alongwith some luxurious cars.
It was surprisingly found that some people were not aware how to wear seatbelt in cars for which they were made aware and motivated to use seat belt.
Traffic police also appeals all the parents and guardians to play the role in implementation of rules by not allowing their minor children drive vehicles until they reach the age permitted under law.
