JKSDM conducts trials for World Skills Competition-Russia 2019
Such events to help youth exhibit their talent: Ansari
SRINAGAR, MAY 08: Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) conducted the state-level skill competitions at Srinagar for selecting candidates who will participate in regional and national competitions leading to the World Skills Competition-Russia 2019.
JKSDM received more than 700 applications in different 12 skill categories for the competitions which were held in Srinagar and Jammu from May 6 to 8, 2018.
Minister of IT, Technical and Higher Education Molvi Imran Raza Ansari said, “Our endeavor is to provide the youth of J&K with opportunities to grow and excel. We have started many programmes to promote the talent of the youth and organizing such competitions, will provide our youth much-needed exposure to exhibit their skills.”
Mission Director, JKSDM Dr. Peer GN Suhail said, “It is the first time our state has actively participated in the India Skills Competition and we are hopeful that the selected candidates will put up a good performance in the next levels of the competition”.
The result of the state level competitions will be declared during the TALAASH-Skill & Entrepreneurship Conclave, which is going to be held on 12th and 13th May 2018 in Srinagar. Apart from the cash prizes, the winner and the runner-up candidates will proceed for the regional level skill competitions to be held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
JKSDM organized the State-level Skill Competitions in collaboration with NIT- Srinagar, IHM -Srinagar, Central University, Jammu, NIELIT-Jammu, SSMD-Baramulla and Arena Animation.
