Budgam boy’s body retrieved from River Jhelum in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 18: The body of Budgam boy who was drowned in River Jhelum was Saturday retrieved by SDRF men, official sources said.

Director SDRF, Amir Ali told TNN that the body of the youth was fished out two days after he was drowned on Thursday. Shabir Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Rahman Sheikh, a resident of Sitaharan Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district was drowned in River Jhelum in Nawakadal area of Srinagar, sources said.

According to the family sources of the deceased, the boy was nearly twenty years of age and was staying in Srinagar.

“He was working as a labourer there,” they said.
