JAMMU, AUGUST 27: Urban Forestry Division in collaboration with Girls Hostel Government Medical College, Jammu celebrated Van Mahotsav here today and planted a total of 70 plants of medicinal and ornamental values.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Forest Officer, Urban Forestry Division, Jammu, Anup Soni, highlighted the initiative of Urban Forestry Division where Institutional Plantation was carried out in different institutions like schools, colleges and hostels. He informed that about 15000 plants under Institutional Plantation were planted till date.
Range Officer, Rakesh Verma also urged every individual to plant at least five plants so that ecological balance can be maintained.
Pharmacologist cum Warden Girls Hostel Jammu, Dr Seema Gupta along with students and other staff also participated in the plantation drive whereas Forester, Dewakar Singh presented vote of thanks.
