ACB registers case of Disproportionate Asset against the then Assistant Commissioner Development, Noor Alam :Searches Conducted

Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu registers case against Noor Alam, Deputy Secretary ARI and Trainings, in case FIR No. 21/2019 P/S ACB Jammu for offences u/s 5 (1) (e) r/w 5 (2) J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 P/S ACB Jammu. ACB Jammu after conclusion of verification No. VO-RD-G-89/2018 regarding allegations that he has accumulated huge assets disproportionate to his known sources of income registered the instant case FIR.

During the course of verification it emerged that Noor Alam while posted as Block Development Officer and Assistant Development Commissioner in District, Rajouri, Reasi and Jammu had resorted to corrupt practices and raised huge assets which include i.e. one double story house in 01 kanal land at Bathindi, a residential house at Garkhal Akhnoor, land measuring 03 kanals 19 marla in khasra No. 207 min in Village Narwal Bala Tehsil Jammu, land measuring 10 kanals in kahsra No. 237 min situated at Chack Changarwa Tehsil and District Jammu, land measuring 01 kanal 15 ½ marla in khasra No. 673 min land measuring 02 kanals in khasra No. 2673 min situated at Village Pargwal Tehsil Akhnoor, land measuring 10 marlas in khasra No. 225 min in village Narwal Bala Tehsil Jammu, land measuring 05 marla in khasra No. 1533 min in village Raipur Domana Tehsil Jammu, vehicles i.e one Micra Car No. JK02BL-8228, one JCB, 02 Tippers, one Bolero and one TATA Safari, gold ornaments besides luxurious house hold items, costly electronic gadgets etc. It also surfaced that he has made huge investment of Rs. 37.5 lacs for purchase of a Flat at Palm Spring Apartments Srinagar, a Flat at Golden Palm Apartments Jammu and land measuring 16 kanals in khasra No. 311 in village Seri Pandita Tehsil Jammu.

A team of Anti-Corruption Bureau Officers/Officials also conducted a day long search at residential house at Bathindi Jammu on 23.09.2019 immediately after registration of FIR No. 21/2019 P/S ACB, Jammu.

It is pertinent to note that Noor Alam is also co-accused in case FIR No. 08/2018 P/S VOJ (now ACBJ) u/s 5 (1) (d) r/w 5 (2) P.C Act Samvat 2006 r/w 34/120-RPC pertaining to purchase of various items such as prominently flex hoardings, file covers, job cards, wheel barrows and dustbin etc. without ascertaining the rate reasonability meant for the Districts without observance of codal formalities.
