Three militants were killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Chattabal area of Srinagar while
three security personnel, including an officer, were also injured in the firefight.
DGP SP Vaid said that one of the militants identified was Fayaz Ahmad Hammal of Fateh Kadal Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that the slain militants belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit.
Meanwhile many incidents of stone pelting were reported from different areas of downtown, Srinagar. Many youth clashed with security forces near Chattabal encounter site.
