Police in Bihar registered a fresh case against the owner of a shelter home in Muzaffarpur where more than 30 minor girls were sexually assaulted over a period of time. The new case against Brajesh Thakur, the owner, pertains to the disappearance of 11 women, who went missing from another one of his shelter homes.

The second shelter home is in Muzaffarpur as well.

On Monday, the associate director of the social welfare department of Bihar, Divesh Kumar Sharma, lodged a complaint against Thakur as 11 women from his NGO have been missing.

The FIR filed by the police says that the 11 women remain missing. The women used to stay at Swadhar Grih.

A local daily has reported that an inspection in March had found 11 women lodged at Swadhar Grih. However, another inspection in June found the shelter home empty and the women missing.

Brajesh Thakur is also the prime accused in a case pertaining to the sexual assault and rape of more than 30 women at Balika Grih, which is also owned by Thakur. The CBI has taken over the probe into the Balika Grih case.
