Month long skill development programme concludes at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER-17: – The one month long ‘Skill Development Programme’ conducted by Department of Horticulture in collaboration with KVK Reasi on fruit plant propagation and nursery management concluded today here at Government Fruit Plant Nursery, Badolla.

A batch 25 farmers were imparted hands on training of budding, layering, grafting, nursery bed preparation etc by the resource persons from Horticulture Department Udhampur, Scientists from KVK Reasi and master trainer (budder).

At the valedictory ceremony, Chief Horticulture Officer, Udhampur Brij Vallabh Gupta along with Head KVK Reasi Dr Banarasi Das spoke on horticulture sector and urged the trainees to use horticulture as main tool to double their income by 2022. He said that the main objective of organizing this programme was to enable the youth to take up horticulture as source employment as well as to create technical manpower which can provide horticulture related technical services as and when required.

Later, the CHO gave away certificates to the trainees.
