DSEJ’S 5 DAY WORKSHOP ‘A LITTLE TINKERING’ CONCLUDES

Jammu: Five day workshop for school teachers ‘A Little Tinkering’,  with the objective  to provide hands-on and tinkering training to the school teachers so that they can make an effective use of ATAL Tinkering lab has successfully concluded here at IIT Jammu today.

The uniqueness of the workshop was that the student-mentors from B.Tech., IIT Jammu trained the school teachers and provided them with hands on knowledge about using, various sensors such as ultrasonic sensors, infra-red sensors, thermal sensors, accelerometers and 3D printiers etc.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, who was the chief guest on the occasion appreciated the models and prototypes developed during the workshop and said that the basic purpose of holding such training programs was to transfer the knowledge thus gained to the classrooms for the betterment of the students. Such more training programs will be held in future as well so that the teaching learning process can be made as up to date as possible, he added.
Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, distributed certificates to the participanting teachers of various Secondary Schools of Jammu Zone during the valedictory session.

Amongst others, Prof. Kannan Iyer, Dean- Faculty Affairs,  Prof. Uma Shanker, Dean – Student Affairs, IIT Jammu, Dr. Vijay Kumar Pal, coordinator of the workshop and Dr. Jagdish Raj Panotra, Nodal Officer ATL Jammu Division were present on the occasion.
